Of particular note, one of the breakout sessions will focus on Suicide Prevention at End of Life. VA psychologist Dr. Laura Eaton will join a guest speaker from Denver Hospice, to explore suicide assessment at the end of life and the recent Colorado experience with MAID (Medical Aid in Dying). Other sessions target other aspects of suicide prevention including clergy competencies, postvention and care planning.

Three-day Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training: November 6 - 8, 2019

VitalHearts | The Resiliency Training Initiative is hosting a three-day Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training. There are several scholarships that need to be used up at this last training they are hosting this year. These scholarships are a result of our grant funding from the Daniels Fund and are specifically meant for those who work in hospice or palliative care. Complete event information here.

To access the scholarships and register for the program:
1) Check scholarship availability by contacting Lisa Bernal at [email protected] or calling 303-987-3000.
2) Register online here: https://www.vitalhearts.org/training-schedule
3) Only complete Step 1 of the registration process as Step 2 deals with payment and you will be attending on full scholarship (a $495 value). Please be sure to indicate in either the Agency Name or the Title fields that you are in hospice or palliative care.
4) You will receive a confirmation email once you hit submit.
5) That's all you need to do for now! One to two weeks prior to the training you will receive an email from Lisa Bernal with all logistical information.
